Welcome to another Saturday post. Another impressive building is the Waupun WI Post Office. I was really amazed when I first approached the building. It has a wonderful facade and look to it. Prior to visiting I had looked up several post office to find out if they had artwork. Unfortunately the Waupun does not have any artwork but the building itself is really quite impressive.
One very interesting thing is in the lobby there are several very old photographs of when the building was constructed. It’s neat to see how many decorative brick pieces went into the facade of this building.
I was also delighted to see the Mr. Zippy character on the exterior of the building. The United States Post Office used the Mr. Zippy character for promotional purpose when it switched over to the zip code system. Very Cool indeed.
