Fostoria Ohio Post Office

December 21, 2013 By David W. Gates Jr.

Fostoria OH Post Office 44830
Fostoria OH Post Office 44830

ADDRESS: 202 W. Center St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830

Today we feature the interesting Fostoria Post Office. I say interesting because it defiantly has a distinct look or architectural style to it. I’m not sure what you call it or the technical terms but it really is a handsome building. Upon closer look one can see the decorative squares above the doors. The metal fascia and interior vestibules are quit ornate.

Oh and by the way, this one also has an US Geological Survey on the building.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.

Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office – Part 6

April 21, 2013 By David W. Gates Jr.

ADDRESS: 522 N. 9th St. Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081
TITLE: Present City
ARTIST: Schomer Lichtner
MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Sheboygan Post Office is still active and all the murals are viewable by the public. They reside on the walls in the main lobby.
YEAR: 1939

Welcome to part 6 of our series featuring the Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office. There is a lot to see here and I felt it was important to showcase each mural on its own. So I’ve decided to create 6 separate articles, one for each of the murals and one for the building and artifacts.

Sit back relax and enjoy the final series featuring the Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office. And by all means, if you have a comments, suggestion or additional information about this wonderful post office, we’d love to hear your comments below.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.
