STATUS: The Newcomerstown post office is still an active, operating facility and the relief can be viewed by interested members of the public. The mural resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.

Spring break visit in March of 2024 brought us through Newcomerstown, Ohio. It was getting late and we had a long drive, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stop and see this one. We managed to get a few good pictures and video. Special thanks to my son for putting up with the long drive, assisting me in filming.

Shot the video without having the microphone on. First few video’s I was also saying the art was a wood carving. When actually it’s plaster. But subsequent video’s I reported it as Terra-cotta.

STATUS: The Forest City post office is still an active, operating facility and the relief once house in the original building is now located here on S. Powell Street. It can be viewed by interested members of the public. The mural resides in the lobby.

STATUS: The Middleport post office is still an active, operating facility, and the relief can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1938

Doing this trip, I started to record video a bunch more than I usually do. The results were that I ran out of space on the phone I was using.

Luckily, Middleport has a nice little library with WIFI. I was able to off load all the photos and videos I had been taken.

The downside is that I didn’t realize until other stop, that I needed to wipe the entire photo to clear up the space.

At any rate I my stay in Middleport was longer than I anticipated and also forced me to visit the local library.
