So I’m driving right through town and spot the Post Office. I stop on the other side of the street, get out to start taking pictures. All is good right?, Well, two minutes later a police car pulls up and parks just opposite of the post office. The officer then gets out of his car, meanwhile I’m just standing there waiting for him to say something or to approach me.
But he was not after a freak taking pictures of the post offices. He opened the back door of the squad car and escorted a man in handcuffs into the building. Apparently the police station is right across the street from the post office. I was so focused on taking my pictures I never even noticed. Makes for great suspense though.

Sometimes it only take me a moment to remember my visit to a post office. Sometimes its only takes one person or event to trigger a memory of my visit.
The Sycamore Ohio post office was one of those times. As I was walking up to the front of the building, camera and tripod in hand, a lady walked out of the building. She took one look at me and said something like, “Oh you’re taking a picture of the post office”. I responded yes, that is what I do, and started to walk across the street for a better place to take my picture.
That was it, that was our conversation, but its something as simple as that which triggers my memory of what it was like visiting or photographing a building.
