Georgetown Ohio Post Office

STATUS: The Georgetown post office is still an active, operating facility, and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1936

I arrived in Georgetown late in the day. The sun had already set but I was able to get a few good photos of the exterior of the building. Turns out Georgetown is also the boy hood home of Ulysses Grant, our 18th president.

I walked about the block in the downtown area and stopped to read the plaque outside of the house he grew up in. It was late and after hours so I never went inside, but it was kind of nice to see this little bit of history. Bonus the post office is on the same street and just a short walk away.

There are also some nice historical photos decorating the lobby of the post office.

STATUS: The New Lexington post office is still an active, operating facility, and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides on the wall in the main section of the lobby.
YEAR: 1938

I like the design of this building. Typically most of the buildings are your rectangular smaller buildings. But this one sticks out and has a great roof line and the large rooms to either sides of the building.

Marysville Ohio Post Office

STATUS: The Worthington post office is still an active, operating facility, and the relief can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall near the south entrance/side entrance.
YEAR: 1940

I was happy to get this one as one of the very last stops during my October 2022 road trip. However, the sun was behind the building so it was a challenge to get a good photo. I dislike it when the pictures are dark and it’s hard to see the front of the buildings.
