Plymouth WI Post Office 53073

ADDRESS: 302 E. Main St. Plymouth, Wisconsin 53073
ARTIST: Charles W. Thwaites
TITLE: Making Cheese
MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Plymouth Post Office is still active and the mural painting viewable by the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1942

This is one cool post office. Check out the old photographs they have on the lobby walls. I was pretty excited to see this one. I took a bunch of pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Are there any Plymouth historians out there? Care to share some insight about this historic post office. Plymouth was registered on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Nice.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.

Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office – Part 6

April 21, 2013 By David W. Gates Jr.

ADDRESS: 522 N. 9th St. Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081
TITLE: Present City
ARTIST: Schomer Lichtner
MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Sheboygan Post Office is still active and all the murals are viewable by the public. They reside on the walls in the main lobby.
YEAR: 1939

Welcome to part 6 of our series featuring the Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office. There is a lot to see here and I felt it was important to showcase each mural on its own. So I’ve decided to create 6 separate articles, one for each of the murals and one for the building and artifacts.

Sit back relax and enjoy the final series featuring the Sheboygan Wisconsin Post Office. And by all means, if you have a comments, suggestion or additional information about this wonderful post office, we’d love to hear your comments below.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.
