Welcome to today’s featured post office. Strasburg, Illinois. Every now and then I come across some unexpected surprises. I’m glad I stopped inside of this building. Take a look at the wood work. It is pretty amazing. I know what you are thinking “It’s just a post office” but to me it’s more than just a post office.

It represents a time when we put more time and effort into making buildings beautiful. So yeah it may be a post office, but the wood work and craftsmanship that went into the lobby is impressive. What do you think? Please comment and share below.

  1. Your mention of the fine woodwork and craftsmanship is well taken. You did not find a dedication plaque, but the design of the p.o. boxes is quite morden. Don’t listen to any one that says “if you have seen one P.O. they all look the same”

    • I don’t listen to people who comment, “Its just a post office”. To me they are all unique in some way. This is one of the reason I love this project.
