Just now getting around to this one. After looking at the USPS website it no longer shows up. I’m guessing it may have closed since I visited in 2010. Can anyone else confirm this? I haven’t looked at any closures list for California. Maybe the real estate sign above the window indicates the fate of this one.

Oh well, here is what it looked like in the summer of 2010. I may need to change the category and tag for this one to “Former Post Office” šŸ™

  1. This has a fantastic look to it — love the texture of the stone behind the sign.

    As for discontinuance… I’m not seeing Sierraville on any recent closed facilities lists and it actually does show up on the postal locator tool, so I think it’s still open. The present lease expires at the end of July. If there are any other questions or doubts I could always call someone I know in facilities for the postal district in question — she’s really good.

    • Hi Evan, After taking another look at this one I did not see it on any list either. The locator tool I use is the iPhone app and at the time I was writing this post it did not show up. Just another curiosity. No need to contact anyone, I appreciate the offer but no need to stir up anymore work for now. Thanks again.
