Litchfield Illinois Post Office

The Litchfield post office is a great building. This was another one of my visits during my Saturday, October 24, 2020 road trip. This building also includes a US Geological survey marker on the side of the building. Check out the woodwork in the lobby. Very nice!

    Hello David:
(Litchfield, Illinois MCMX (1910) Thanks for the great pictures!!!!!! The one with the original wood work and opening for the original revolving doors is most interesting. Looking close we can still see the curved glass with in the wood work. There are probably many more where the revolving doors were removed and the opening demolished, for a more morden entrance. New swing doors here, fits well. And look at the woodwork around the door to the right, upon entering amazing !!!!!! All of which is still well preserved after some 110-111 years. Always enjoy your sharing of these photos.

      Hi Rob,

This was a real treat to see. I’m happy other are able to enjoy the photos. I was impressed with all the work work in this one too. It really is hard to believe how old this building is and still in this great of shape.

I’m looking forward to getting out there again.

      Cheers!
      David
