Former Dixon Illinois Post Office

My visit and curiosity brought me to Dixon, IL. Here I found the Post House Ballroom which was once the official Dixon, Illinois post office. I was delighted see the re-purpose of the building into something the public can still enjoy. Although it no longer serves as the post office, its great that this piece of history is still intact, viewable and preserved.

The building was closed during my visit but I was able to get some really good photos of the grand beauty of the exterior of this historic building. If the post office does decided to sell off older buildings I sure hope the future owners keep the history and splendor of the buildings alive for future generations.
