For the past five days I’ve been highlighting the post offices we visited during our road trip to southern Illinois. Back in September of 2012 we attempted to thru-hike the River to River Trail. Although we only hiked about 45 miles of the trail we stopped a visited several post offices.

I think for the coming year I’m going to stick with grouping post offices according to the trips I’ve been on. There of course will be some variations of this but for the most part this is my plan for the coming year.

Another stop during our River to River hike. The trail goes right through this tiny town of Herod. There is a great rest stop just outside of town for River to River hikers and American Discovery Hikers. Way cool!
