STATUS: The Salinas John Steinbeck post office is still an active, operating facility, and the reliefs can be viewed by interested members of the public. They resides on a wall in the lobby of the building.

YEAR: 1936

18-21; Oceanside; First Street Station built 1935-36.

Picture 20 is the New Deal mural in the First Street Station in Oceanside.  It is an airplane delivering the mail in California in a time when air mail was new.  It was painted in 1937.
