Former post office buildings or locations.
ADDRESS: 206 E Main St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907
North Carolina post offices (A-L group) from my recent trip, September of 2022; a few were taken in 2016 (Asheboro, Cedar Falls, Franklinville) which I somehow hadn’t posted. The old main post office in Elizabeth City opened in 1906 and lasted as such until 1970. It’s still used as a U.S. Courthouse and is on the list of National Register of Historic Places.

STATUS: The mural that once resided here has been moved to the newer post office facility on McCorkle Blvd.
YEAR: 1935
I had no idea this one was up for lease. Apparently, the local police were in the building until recently. Someone purchased it and is renting it out. It was closed when I visited. I’d love to see the inside.

Tennessee post offices combines the old and new with the modern ones from 2000 and some like the Downtown Knoxville which opened in 1932. Harriman; old PO built 1911-12.
