California Post Offices
ADDRESS: 7005 N. Lake Blvd., Tahoe Vista, California 96148
Tahoe Vista was another stop while my mother and aunt were visiting me in 2010. Lake Tahoe is a really touristy place and driving along Lake boulevard was fun people watching. We stayed a local cabin and sat on the beach, nice and relaxing especially for a long-distance hiker.

Just now getting around to this one. After looking at the USPS website it no longer shows up. I’m guessing it may have closed since I visited in 2010. Can anyone else confirm this? I haven’t looked at any closures list for California. Maybe the real estate sign above the window indicates the fate of this one.
Oh well, here is what it looked like in the summer of 2010. I may need to change the category and tag for this one to “Former Post Office” 🙁

Back to more California Post Offices this week. I was in a hurry when I visited this one. I had to get my re-supply shipped up the trail. I didn’t want to miss the bus so I quickly did my chores and got out of there. Besides there were too many “normal” people and I really stood out. Yes, I said that because when you are hiking you really stand out from the crowd. If you’re a hiker then you know what I mean by this.
