ADDRESS: 104 S. Wayne Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087
ARTIST: Alfred D. Crimi
TITLE: Anthony Wayne
MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Wayne post office is still an active, operating facility, and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides on a wall in the lobby of the building.
YEAR: 1941
Well maintained building along the historic Main Line of suburban Philadelphia. Town’s namesake, Gen. Anthony “Mad” Wayne (Revolutionary War fame and Battle of Fallen Timbers, 1794), grew up nearby and maintained a home closer to present day Paoli, PA (few miles west).
Best regards, Roger
