Cabin Creek West Virginia Post Office – Guest

I think there was a missed opportunity here. The post office could really be turned into something that looks ore resembles a real cabin. Anyway, Thanks for the photo.

Pompton Lakes New Jersey Post Office
ADDRESS: 47 Lakeside Ave., Pompton Lakes, New Jersey 07442
ARTIST: A. Stirling Calder
TITLE: Benjamin Franklin
MEDIUM: Stone (relief)
STATUS: The Pompton Lakes post office is still an active, operating facility, and the relief can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1937
I’m enjoying the various mediums in New Jersey. Take this stone relief for example, most of the art is murals, but every now and then you get a cool relief or carving.
I feel like I’m staring at a $100 bill when I observe this relief. I also love the historical marker placed in front of the building.
The vegetation near the cornerstone did pose a slight challenge. One of the clerks, observed me pushing back the plants to photograph it. In hindsight, I should have asked him for assistance so I could get a better picture.
