Random Lake Wisconsin Post Office

April 7, 2013 By David W. Gates Jr.

ADDRESS: 220 Allen St., Random Lake, Wisconsin 53075

I’m all about randomness, take this blog for instance. Each day I bring you a random photo of a post office I’ve visited. Today’s post office of the day is Random Lake Wisconsin. How random is that?

You can get your hair done and your mail sent all in one visit in Random Lake Wisconsin. Both the saloon and post office share the same building. That’s the beauty of a small town post office.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.

Hayward Wisconsin Post Office

April 6, 2013 By David W. Gates Jr.

Hayward WI Post Office 54843
Hayward Wisconsin Post Office 54843

ADDRESS: 10597 S. Main St. Hayward, Wisconsin 54843
ARTIST: Stella E. Harlos
TITLE: The Land of Woods and Lakes
MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: This mural still exists in the Hayward Post Office and can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1942

It has been a long time since I’ve been to Hayward Wisconsin. I’m actually trying to remember the last time I was here. I think it was with my dad, we went fishing I think. Then again maybe I’m just saying that because there is a fish on the lobby wall.

What I can tell you is that Hayward has certainly grown from what I remember. I couldn’t believe how long I had to wait to get a good picture of this building. I’m not complaining, I was just sort of in the mind-set that I’d be able to get in and out of Hayward pretty quickly and move on with my day. There must have also been some sort of festival or sidewalk sale going on because there were a lot of people walking the streets and several stores has stuff out in front.

I guess the employees are a little protective as well. I politely waited in line and when one of the employees saw me with my camera she kind of stared at me with an inquisitive look. I assured her I was only taking photos of the mural and not the employees or counter. She sternly informed me that it was illegal to take pictures inside government buildings. I smiled and responded that I was only interested in the mural. She paused but finally agreed. I took my pictures and was on my way. That my friends is my Hayward Wisconsin Post Office visit.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.

Randolph Wisconsin Post Office

ADDRESS: 126 W. Stroud St., Randolph, Wisconsin 53956

Funny how sometimes you just don’t remember being there, or here as in this case. I’m not making any sense. Ok, I’ve become a machine and visiting this post office was a quick in and out visit.

I’m actually just waiting for your input. What do you know about this post office? Have you worked here? Did you help build it? Were you part of the construction company’s workers? I’m just curious.

Thanks,

David W. Gates Jr.
