What a beautiful building. No sadly it does not have any artwork. But the building itself is a work of art. I’m really drawn by the color brick that was used for this one. Of course there are the three sculptured reliefs on the facade as was typical during this age. The plane, train and ship are shown below.

What else can you tell me about this one? Did you work here? Did you help build this post office? Where you around when it was dedicated? Have old pictures of it? So many questions I’d like to know.

Former Port Washington Wisconsin Post Office

I need you help with this one. When I was visiting in September of 2013 we were walking around town. I didn’t even known about this one. In fact It was my fiancé who pointed it out to me.

Sine the existing post office was building in the late 1930’s this one has to be older than 1938 or so. What else can you tell me about this one? It appears to part of the bank now, but because it was a weekend, I don’t remember it being open.

Here is what I’m looking for?

  • When was this one built or dedicated?
  • What was the old or existing address?
  • When did it close and move to the new building?
  • Who was the postmaster?
  • Any old photographs or newspaper articles about it.
