Could you get more west than this one? West Chicago, West Washington St. Is the entrance of the building on the west side of building? Does the postmaster office window face west? I’m just curious I mean after all its just a westerly kind of place. When a person ask for directions do you respond with head west out of the parking lot? Just so many questions. Can you help me answer them?

Okay, Okay, Okay, Yes, I like artwork and murals at our nations post offices. But sometimes you don’t get that at some of our historic post offices. Take for instance the Wheaton Illinois Post Office. Although it doesn’t have a mural or artwork the building itself is really pretty interesting. I guess you can tell how much I enjoyed my visit by the number of photographs I took.  It really is all about the details.

It appears more time and effort was put into the buildings back when this was constructed. Today’s post office buildings are increasingly found in bland shopping centers with the emphasis on cheap rent and less attractive locations.

Anyway, I love everything about the old post offices, not just the artwork but the buildings themselves.

Lincoln Montana Post Office

ADDRESS: 237 Main St., Lincoln, Montana 59639

Cruising down Main St. in Lincoln you will come across a lot of pine tress and the Lincoln Montana Post Office. Lincoln becomes a touristy sort of place during the summer months.

What do you know about Lincoln Montana? Have you been here? I’ve heard this was the post office the unabomber used to send out packages. Any truth to this? What have you heard?
