MEDIUM: Oil on canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Plymouth Post Office is still active and the mural painting viewable by the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1942

This is one cool post office. Check out the old photographs they have on the lobby walls. I was pretty excited to see this one. I took a bunch of pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Are there any Plymouth historians out there? Care to share some insight about this historic post office. Plymouth was registered on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Nice.

Our Springbrook visit was one example of my obsession with post offices. My girlfriend and I were driving home from volunteering on the Ice Age Trail when I decided I needed a few more post office visits in this part of Wisconsin.

Well, she was anxious to get home and so the discussion quickly turned into me defending my choice in taking the back roads to get home. My thinking, we drove all this way and it’s not that far or out-of-the-way. Yes, I admit it becomes an obsession when you are trying to find post offices well into the evening as we pulled up to the Springbrook building.

Note to self, and other post office fans out there. Slowly and gradually introduce your friends and family into your hobby visiting post offices.

With a name like this I just had to get the boats in the picture. Well, you can at lease see a glimpse of them off to the side. This website is about post offices not boats right? LOL

Anyone been through Silver Lake? Any older post offices I don’t know about? Please share your comments below.
