Ok, that was a lot of artwork to start off the year. For my loyal readers logging on to check what unique post office I’m featuring today, well you will just have to settle for the Maryland Heights Post Office. Since Jan 1st I’ve been highlighting the murals at the Main St. Louis Post Office. Yesterday I took a break from all the artwork and WPA era buildings. I will resume my special Saturday posting next week.
This was another one of those busy locations. I walked across the street and waited for the cars to clear before I could get a good photograph. The following pictures are what I ended up with. I hope you enjoy them? Does anyone else know about Maryland Heights? Was this once considered St Louis? Did they break off and create their own town? Just curious. It appears the lettering on the building and address had changed at some point.

Winfield, MO 6I remember this being a really quick stop. I also remember there was a man with a ladder and he was starting to come out and setup in front of the building. I really wanted to get a photograph before he started working so I hurried to park got out of my car and took the picture.
I have to admit it must be a comical sight to watch me as I try to photograph the building. Even I admit it must be amusing to watch as this crazy dude jumps out of car and immediately starts taking photographs. But it’s all for you my loyal readers.
