Celebrating our Nation's Post Offices

Just another Montana Post Office I visited during my trip in June. For those of you who may be new here, these are my least favorite buildings. They just don’t have the character the older WPA era buildings have. But here it is anyway. Welcome to the Dayton, MT Post Office.

ADDRESS: 701 Dewey Blvd., Butte, Montana 59701
This is one very large building and a bit difficult to photograph. But I waited around before cars left the front and then I was able to get the un-obstructed photograph you see here. Just another day driving around in Montana.
I was actually getting tired of the crowds and noise. I couldn’t believe how large and busy this town was.

ADDRESS: 200 Main St., Wisdom, Montana 59761
Driving to the Wisdom, MT post office was quite interesting. The day I drove here it was warm and sunny. The interesting thing was there were about 10 or 15 motorcycles parked in the middle of the town.
Wisdom being a very small town there was only a gas station, post office and some other buildings. When I approached, all the bikers were kinda standing around the gas station. It felt really weird to getting out of the car taking pictures of the post office. I ended up getting gas here to make myself feel more in place.
I took my pictures and went about my business. And that my friends is what it’s like sometimes taking photographs of post office in small town America,
