What an awesome and beautiful building this one is. The Ripon post office was another stop during a short trip in May of this year. I was really glad I stopped here and was rewarded with a wonderful experience.

As I was talking photographs some postal workers approached me to inquire what I was doing. I introduced myself and said I was a fan of old post offices and admiring their building. Apparently I’m not the only one either because as I was explaining how I enjoy the photos on the walls of some of the older post office the postal worker explained they had some of this post office. I was really excited when they showed me the original photos of the building.

I also learned someone from the historical society was in recently to scan the old photographs. The collection included the original photos along with some when the building was expanded. If you notice in the picture above the section to the right of entrance was added on after they outgrew the original section. Thinking back now I wish I had taken pictures of the old photographs. Or I’ll just need to take another road trip to Wisconsin. Many thanks to the postal workers here showing me the old photographs and history of this wonderful building.

Fair Water Wisconsin Post Office

Another Wisconsin Post Office during a May road trip. As I was heading back to Illinois I stopped at several small towns along the way to take pictures of post offices. Fair Water was one of those smaller towns.

As I was taking pictures a man exited the building inquiring what I was doing. I introduced myself and mentioned I was a fan of post offices. I was delighted when he showed me some old photographs on the wall. I also received a short history on the progression of the Fair Water post office and its locations in the past. Awesome I said to myself. Great history in these smaller towns I kept saying to myself.

Brownsville Wisconsin Post Office

ADDRESS: 860 W. Main St., Brownsville, Wisconsin 53006

Brownsville was another town I passed through while on my way home from a short vacation. I’ve seen several other post offices with this building design. It seems like this was the style for any post office built during the 1990’s.
