While we were visiting post offices we drove through the Pullman neighborhood one weekend back in December. As it turns out the Roseland post office is the closest to the Pullman neighborhood. As we drove by my girlfriend was so impressed by seeing this unique architecture she decided to get out of the car and look around with me.
It really is an impressive building. The metalwork around the windows is unique and ornate. Since it was Sunday the lobby was closed but I peaked inside the window and could tell the inside looked be as impressive as the exterior.
The imprinting on the exterior of the building stated Henry Morgenthau Jr was the secretary of the Treasury. John C Bollenbacher as the architect. The date 1935 was also imprinted on the corner stone of the building.
